Like all the things I love and collect I am old, worn, and been thrown out a few times. I have had many lives wrapped up in this one. I have been lucky enough to have done many, many things. Plumbing, woodworking, restaurant owner, tile layer, retail business owner, flea market vendor, fast food manager, ebayer, and while doing these things I have been a sewer, bird house builder, card maker, jewelry maker (the bracelets I made and sold in the early ’70 were marketed as hippy but after 2000 I marketed them as surfer! What’s it come to when an old hippy is making surfer jewelry) and a general crafting fool. For about 30 years I have been an ‘old paper dealer’. I can say ‘ephemera dealer’ now that the mixed media, altered art and collage craze has made ephemera a common word, but me, I still like ‘old paper dealer’. I just found a copy of Buffalo Springfield’s LP “Last Time Around” and remembered that I made my first collage just after I saw the back of this album the first time way back when.

Now I am no longer raising children (oh yes I did that for 36 years, and no not the same child), and I am the lucky owner of a few physical disabilities so I have retired to this small place in the beautiful Texas hills where I immerse myself in paper, fabric, glues, threads and all this other stuff that is rapidly over flowing from this home.
